My Wealth Is Not Measured in Coins or Change

When I say I want all of the luxuries in life,
I am saying I want to be covered in dirt and dipped in a lake.
All I want is a few extra seconds in the rain,
a few extra seconds of watching the sky drain,
a few extra seconds of standing on a mountain,
watching my past life close up behind me and the new one unfolding
at the highest peak in front of me.
I am okay with a few more seconds standing in a hurricane.
My wealth is not measured in coins or change.
It’s a piggy bank shattering with the joy I’ve felt,
knowing that I survived after scrubbing away
my deepest bloodstain.
